Introducing our Tree of Life Coasters, beautiful fair trade wood products that are carefully and precisely handcrafted using only basic hand tools. These coasters are made from light and grainy mango wood, sourced by our skilled artisans in Moradabad, India.

Artisan Story: Our fair trade wood products are meticulously crafted by hand and using basic power tools in Moradabad, India. In 2017, due to the overuse and declining numbers of Indian Rosewood (or Sheesham Wood), governing bodies mandated that this wood cease being used for production and export. Consequently, our artisans switched to mango wood, sourced from the abundant mango tree. As mangoes are in high demand, the trees are plentiful and provide an excellent source of wood for products like ours. Once a tree can no longer bear fruit, it is cut down and used to create beautiful items such as our Tree of Life Coasters. Mango wood is noticeably more grainy and lighter than Indian Rosewood.
