The art of glass blowing began in Egypt at least in the 3rd Century A.D. based on a poem written on papyrus that describes the technique.

Artisan Story
Dandarah, a woman-owned enterprise based in Montreal, works directly with artisans in Egypt. The artisans are mostly minorities and women who are economically and socially marginalized. Dandarah seeks to provide employment and sustainable income for these artisans.
